Axis Q6035-E Outdoor PTZ Dome Review

Moved to www.NetworkCameraCritic.com

The Axis Q60 series is the crown jewel of the Axis lineup. An HD 1080P PTZ speed dome with 20X optical zoom and great image quality not only during the day, but also using available light at night. Previously I reviewed their 720P PTZ Dome, the P5534-E so we mounted the two side by side to you show you the difference between the two. The Q6035-E outdoor-ready PTZ dome provides HDTV coverage of large areas, great details when zooming in, and high-speed pan/tilt performance.

Axis P5534-E Outdoor PTZ Camera

Moved to www.NetworkCameraCritic.com

Many people ask me, “What’s a good pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) camera to use at home”. Hard for me to imagine needing a PTZ cameras as I live in California where lots are small, and there’s really no need to have 18X zoom and 360 degree pan. Where I believe a PTZ camera is valuable is where you have a large area you want to cover and putting individual cameras in those locations are not feasible. I also have been a big proponent of having mega-pixel resolution or what some companies started calling HD to feed off the HD TV standard. This is where the P5534-E does not disappoint, it’s one of the very few HD resolution PTZ cameras on the market and the resolution combined with its zoom lens is amazing.

axis m10 series review

Moved to www.NetworkCameraCritic.com

The low end of the Axis family of IP cameras is the M10 series. The street prices range from about $150 to $250 depending on features and represents the best value in networked surveillence cameras for home or small business security. In my recent travels through South America, it’s amazing to see how many shops you go into that have the Axis low end guarding their store. Why, because they are easy to deploy and inexpensive for the quality you get. Sure, you can find cameras on ebay with no brand name, made in China that are cheaper, but I’ve gone that route and I can tell you, there’s no comparison in image quality, in reliability, in support, in flexibility.

Axis M1114 Review

Moved to www.NetworkCameraCritic.com

Axis is the leader in IP cameras and they recently started releasing some good cameras at afforable prices to compete with the lower costs products from the Asian market. One of the best values is the Axis M1114. This camera comes with a vari-focal lens (manual zoom), auto-iris (variable apeture) and 1 MP resolution they call HD (720p). The camera also has the ability to use a newer compression technology called h.264. This is a video codec designed for surveillence with very good compression (about 10x over other methods) and very good image quality. The advantage to you is you can view your camera remotely at a higher resolution and frame rate than otherwise without compromising quality.
